"Scary Santa"

As you can see from this picture, Emilee's visit with Santa didn't go so well. We went to the mall and waited in the long line to see Santa. When it was our turn, the greeter asked us what photo package we would like to purchase. Something told me this wouldn't go well, so we chose to just visit and take a picture with our own camera. As soon as we sat Emilee on Santa's lap, she screamed and reached her arms out for Mommy. Poor thing was terrified..... Santa however, is very used to this reaction. :-)

Mommy's little helper.

Isn't she so cute? Emilee wanted to put my oven mits on after she saw me use them. She is mommy's little helper. Every time I do laundry, she wants me to pick her up so she can help put the laundry in the washer. She's so fun, I can't get enough of her.

Sleep tight our little Angel.

Chad and I have said it before, and we'll say it again. There just are not enough hours in the day to spend with our little angel. She is so precious, we both check on her before we go to bed, and we could stare for hours. You would think that would wear off after a while, but even though she is almost 17 months old, I still could stare at her for hours. What a precious gift from Heaven!!

Emilee is getting so smart. She is saying several words, she knows all her body parts, and can put puzzles together. I'm amazed everday with the new things she has learned. It is so much fun to watch her grow. Parenting is truly the best thing I have ever done......what a blessing to have been given this opportunity. Thank you God, you are good!!

Surprise!!!

Well, I pulled it off. I planned a surpise Birthday party for Chad's 30th. There were times when I thought he knew, but he didn't, it was a big surprise. We are so blessed to have so many close friends and family who were able to make it. Thank you to all of you. We love you.

Happy Fall......Happy Halloween

What a cutie!! Emilee was a care bear for Halloween and her cousin Kiarah was a pumpkin. The girls had fun trick or treating, although it started raining about 5 minutes into it. We trick or treated for a little while, but then stopped over at Grandma Snell's for some cider and donuts......yummy. Emilee loves the outdoors, even when it's freezing outside, as you can see from the first picture. She goes around the yard collecting all the sticks and leaves she can possible fit into her tiny little hands. We get such a hoot out of her.

Mackinaw....2007

I'm so sorry it has taken so long to update my blog, but the website has been giving me problems for a few weeks now. Anyway, here are some pictures of our recent trip to Mackinaw. We went the first weekend in October. Brrrrrrr.......cold rignt? Wrong....it was so incredibly beautiful that weekend. We had temperatures in the 70's and sunny skies. We stayed at Millcreek Campgroud in little log cabins that they have. They were so cute and perfect for camping. The trip was a lot of fun.

Family Day Out

Chad has been bugging me to go to Cabela's for years now, and recently he was really wanting to go, so I finally agreed। I must admit, I wasn't looking forward to it at first। It's not that I didn't want to go to the store, I just didn't want to make the 2 1/2 hour trip, but I must say, it wasn't that bad. Anyway, the place is huge and we had a lot of fun walking around the store. Emilee was so good. She was so facinated by all the hundreds of deer heads and other stuffed animals around the entire store. They also had huge fish aquariums that she really liked too. These pictures are of us in the gigantic bear statue outside the store. All in all, it was a good day and I'm glad we went. It was a great family day with no interruptions of normal weekend work, you know, laundry, house cleaning, lawn mowing, etc...... For once we put it all aside and had a great day.

"Baby Einstein"

Here are some recent pictures of Emilee that I promised. Can we say "baby Einstein"? I got such a kick out of this picture. Here hair was full of static electricity after going down a slide. She loves going to parks to swing and slide.
What a movie star!! Emilee loves to wear her sunglasses. She acts so proud when she has them on. I don't know of too many one year olds that will actually keep sunglasses on.

Hooray!!!

Finally, the day has arrived.....Emilee took her first steps! I must admit, I was starting to get a little worried, being she's now 14 months old and didn't seem too interested in walking. Although, I know I shouldn't have been worried because the average age that a toddler walks is 14 months old. I guess she's sticking to statistics. She took one step yesterday at her Auntie Jess' and Uncle Matt's house and they were so excited they came to my work just to tell me. Luckily, Emilee took two steps towards me when they came to visit. It was the proudest moment of my parenting life, I almost shed a tear.

First try at a small piece of the 21st Century

Hello Everyone,

Well, this blog is my attempt of entering the 21st century when it comes to methods of communication. I love email, but I still communicate by the good old U.S. postal service. I figured this would be a really nice way for distant family, and friends we don't see often to keep updated on our lives. We will post updates and share pictures of our life. Be aware, it will mostly consist of Emilee because..... well, let's face it, she is our life right now.

Until next time,
Snell family
